about being young and going out to play.
putting baseball cards in your bicycle spokes,
sitting on the curb and drinking frozen cokes.
oh, thinking GI Joes and matchbox cars,
setting corn husk fires and bugs in jars,
or getting dirty hands and skinning your knees,
getting poison ivy or climbing trees.

but in 1995, my good friend died,
I couldn't understand why she took her life.
I sat in my room, and I listened to tapes.
I lost my baby fat, but gained a heavy weight. alright.
