a teenage ice cube, melting in a glass, you better slow down, oh you're melting too fast, try to make it last, you try to make it last, but you're melting too fast. traffic cones at night, like fires shining bright, keep me from home, and being by your side. try to make it last, try to make it last, but its melting too fast. oh frozen teenager you can't go home. you're grinding gears in that indiana snow, good bye cornfields, goodbye youth. you can't go back, oh it ain't no use. all of those sharks on the nicotine are gonna find out I've got love in my blood stream. i try to hold, i try to hold on like a lonely teen. oh frozen teenager you can't go home. you're grinding gears in that indiana snow, good bye cornfields, goodbye youth. you can't go back, oh it ain't no use.

outside in the dim morning light, the bees are in the vines, we're not so young, I can see the lines. pack up the car, with fruits and vegetables, we'll leave the buildings behind. I can see the lines, I can see the lines. I don't want to move great big things, oh no. I have realized its such a silly thing, oh no. So take the keys, you drive, i'll watch the mountains pass on my side. yellow sun, a planetary cousin. oh lay on a flannel sheet. in the grass, close your eyes, and settle into a nap. two roast beef sandwiches a bottle of water - its everything you need. close your eyes, oh I can see the lines. I don't want to move great big things, oh no. I have realized its such a silly thing, oh no. So take the keys, you drive, i'll watch the mountains pass on my side.

well I suppose we could talk all day, about being young and going out to play. putting baseball cards in your bicycle spokes, sitting on the curb and drinking frozen cokes. oh, thinking GI Joes and matchbox cars, setting corn husk fires and bugs in jars, or getting dirty hands and skinning your knees, getting poison ivy or climbing trees. but in 1995, my good friend died, I couldn't understand why she took her life. I sat in my room, and I listened to tapes. I lost my baby fat, but gained a heavy weight. alright. well I suppose we could talk all day, about how I feel and how I lost my way. oh but everybody knows, that's the way it goes, you plant another seed and then you watch it grow. oh, but 1998 was a magical year, I dropped outta college, and I started drinking beer. I lost more weight and I lost my girl, but finally figured out where I belong in this world. oh, I don't rely on memories of being young... no I don't always go chasing the setting sun... I still smoke and I still drink, but I finally figured out where I belong. Well, I think.

miles away, the other side of the world. violence in the palm trees, for love, for god, for you and me blood on resort floors, dead kids in the sand. I'm pretty sure we're all children. talk, talk, shoot, shoot. It gets really heavy without reason. talk, talk, shoot, shoot. It gets really heavy without reason.

radio talks 02:42
the waves were rolling nice and slow, and my lovers body glowed. i could see it through her clothes. easy come and easy go. the morning fog had yet to go. blowing down from Puget Sound. i felt the wind begin to clip, shooting out of a time slip. oh, i know we're still connected. i saw the planets undertow. my radio, in the night. still talks to you. my radio, in the night. still talks to you. the waves were rolling nice and slow, and my lovers body glowed. i could see it through her clothes. easy come and easy go.
